Meet Dr. Karin Funke-Rapp – the founder and driving force behind GloNet Communications. With more than 20 years of international experience in DAX, Nikkei, and NASDAQ-listed companies such as BMW, Daimler, Chrysler, Mitsubishi, Siemens, and GE, she brings senior-level expertise to every client project.

Karin began her career as a journalist with ZDF in Germany and NHK Radio in Japan, a foundation that shaped her strong international perspective and storytelling skills. She went on to lead complex communications in times of transformation – from internal crises and leadership transitions to high-profile mergers, including the Daimler-Chrysler merger and Daimler’s acquisition of Mitsubishi Motors.

She holds a Ph.D. in Japanese Economics from the Free University of Berlin, with academic stays at Sophia and Keio University in Tokyo, and an M.A. in Political Science and North American Studies. A native German speaker fluent in English, Karin is also an accomplished international moderator, trusted to bridge cultures and foster dialogue on global panels.
